Day 1: ORVIETO

Arrival in Orvieto and accommodation in hotel (no arrival transfer included). Check-in is from 2pm. Time at leisure for relaxing and for visiting the town. Dinner at leisure.

Day 2: ORVIETO

After breakfast you will have your 2 hours guided tour to discover the beauty of this Etruscan city built on a tuff cliff. Your English-speaking guide will take you to the cathedral and to discover the amazing San Brizio Chapel (entrance ticket not included to be paid on spot). Second stop will be the Etruscan well of Pozzo La Cave (entrance ticket included) and the new underground itinerary of Orvieto. Afternoon at leisure for shopping and private visits. Dinner at leisure

Day 3: MARMORE FALLS & BOMARZO PARK

After breakfast departure at about 11 am by private transfer to the wine cellar in the neighborhood of Orvieto. Visit to the wine estate, vineyard and yard and lunch around 12 with local menù including 4 wines (menù is with 1 antipasto, first course, main counrse, dessert).
At 2 pm departure to Marmore Falls and to Bomarzo Park. In october the opening time of Marmore falls during week days should be as follow: afternoon 15-17. It could be interesting to arrive on spot a few minutes before 3pm to assist to the opening of cataracts. After the Marmore Fallas Park visit to the Bomarzo Park, an historical garden of the XVI century. It takes at least 1 hour to visit the park. The closure of the park is at sunset in October. Back to the hotel in Orvieto. Dinner at leisure

Day 4: ASSISI

Breakfast in Hotel. Private transfer from Orvieto to Assisi for visiting the upper and lower Basilica dedicated to Saint Francis preserving amazing frescos of Giotto and his school. Your local English-speaking guide will lead you through the maze of alleys of the medieval town discovering enchanting hidden corners for your pictures. Afterward, a new experience is possible for you just off Assisi. You will learn to make the local bread called “torta al testo”. It is a traditional hand-made thin bread that is cooked in the fire with ash. Then it is stuffed with sausages, or ham, or herbs or cheese. Delicious especially if paired with local red wine (this experience is optional and not included in the final price - on request with supplement). In the afternoon arrival in your new accommodation in the countryside of Assisi, the real heart of Green Umbria. Accommodation in a nice and very cozy Agriturismo located in a Villa. Welcome drink! Here the landscape made of smooth rolling hills will take your heart! Dinner included

Day 5: GRAPE HARVEST / WINE ESTATE

Breakfast in your agriturismo. A new exciting experience is waiting for you today. You will take part to the grape harvest in the vineyard that belongs to the estate of La Ghirlanda. After breakfast you will go together with your guide to the vineyards and you will take an active part to the hand-made grape pick-up. Then you will go to the wine cellar and see how the gape is pressed and how the vinification process start. Visit to the cellar, barrel cellar and aging cave. Tasting of wine and some finger food. Later a picnic lunch will follow to be consumed in the yard. In case of bad weather conditions it is always possible to make a tour of the estate and wine cellar with tasting and meal. Day 6: DERUTA

Breakfast. Short transfer from the agriturismo to Deruta, a worldfamous little town thanks to the historical production of artistic ceramics. Visit to the most iconic and trditional of cermic factories. Here you will meet the master painter who will introduce to the pote making and pot decoration art. after the visit to the factory, visit to the museum of pottery and ceramics located in a beautiful cloister in the historical center of Deruta. It is the oldest italian museum dedicated to ceramic and pottery art. Founded in 1898 it preserves more than 6000 masterpieces. In the afternoon back to the agriturismo. Dinner included

Day 7: PERUGIA

breakfast. Check out and private transfer to Perugia for new interesting experiences.
Arrival in about 1 hour in the center of the Etruscan capital city of Umbria. Here you will start a new exciting itinerary for discovering the old and new excellence of the city.
The morning is dedicated to the visit of a unique workshop where painted stein steel glasses of the cathedrals are produced. This women-run workshop belonged to the same family for 4 generations. You will enter a world of magic colors and art you can’t imagine!
Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, at around 3pm, visit to Palazzo Sorbello, a noble family palace located in the very heart of the city. The house is now a museum. You will be welcomed by the descendant (the presence will be confirmed later on but in any case you will meet somebody of the family able to talk about the history of the family and the connections of the family with the United States) of this noble family whose history reaches the Holy Roman Empire. The palace preserves precious odeporic texts, fabrics, ceramics, works of art and artifacts that talk about the family history including also the last generation of women of the family who created in the United States a true empire dedicated exclusively to women in the early 1900s creating an extraordinary connection between Perugia and NYC. The visit will end with a splendid drink and aperitif on the panoramic terrace overlooking the Assisi Valley and the tiled roofs of the old city. Dinner at leisure
