Day 3: ORVIETO

After breakfast, departure to Orvieto that was founded by the Etruscans around the eighth century BC. The most famous of its monuments is the cathedral, one of the most spectacular Italian Gothic buildings, both for its size and the richness of the façade. It is decorated with mosaics and sculptures.
Inside important fresco cycles, among which those in the Chapel of San Brizio made by Beato Angelico and Luca Signorelli. Another famous tourist destination is the St. Patrick's Well, a work of engineering genius of the sixteenth century.
The narrow streets, palaces and ancient houses, all built with tuff, give to Orvieto a very special atmosphere.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 4: ASSISI

After breakfast departure  to Assisi. Situated on the slopes of Mount Subasio (1,290 msl), Assisi is undoubtedly the Umbrian city best known in the world: his fame derives from being the birthplace of St. Francis. Assisi has ruins of Roman times and, virtually intact, the urban layout of the medieval city.
Among the main monuments is the Basilica of San Francesco, one of the most important religious and artistic attractions of Italy, with its frescoes by Giotto, Cimabue and other important Italian artists.
In the afternoon visit of Spello;  this wonderful  town is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating of Umbria. The harsh pink stones of the buildings, the care that residents have for the streets and balconies, permanently decorated with flowers and plants, the ups and downs of the intricate maze of narrow streets forming a complex of different elements make of Spello a place for the soul.
These suggestions of forms and colors have their culmination in the Baglioni Chapel where very important frescoes of painter  Pinturicchio are preserved. These frescos are one of the major attractions of Umbria in the world!
Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: SIBILLINI NATURAL PARK, CASTELLUCCIO DI NORCIA and NORCIA

After breakfast departure to  Sibillini Natural Park, a protected area in the heart of Apennines  to admire the magnificent PIAN GRANDE (the main valley)  at the foot of Mount Vettore (mt 2478) that is one of the highest picks in central Italy.
Impressive and unforgettable the atmosphere of  Castelluccio di Norcia, perched on the top of a hill in the middle of valley! Traditionally a shepherd’s village now has turned into a glamour holiday destination for trekkers and free flight lovers but it did not loose his identity and mystic atmosphere!
On your way back home you will stop in Norcia to visit the town of San Benedetto; back to your  hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: SPOLETO

After breakfast departure to Spoleto. This beautiful town was an important Roman colony and later then the seat of a Lombard duchy. The most famous monuments of the city date back to the communal and the Renaissance ages, although there are testimonies of the roman times.
The cathedral is the main tourist attraction and it is situated in a magnificent scenic location at the bottom of a long staircase that suddenly opens in the narrow alleys of the old. Inside, there are many important works of art including the beautiful fifteenth-century frescoes in the apse, the last work of the Florentine painter Filippo Lippi.
Climbing up to the hilltop of the city, you get to the Ponte delle Torri, a masterpiece, 220 meters long and more than 80 mt high; here there is also the  Rocca Albornoz, a magnificent example of military fortress  of the XIV century.
Spoleto is also famous as the set of an international festival dedicated to performing arts: ballet, opera, classic music and theatre. The most famous players of the world have  been performing here since ages during summer.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 7: GUBBIO and MONTONE

After breakfast departure for the beautiful Gubbio. Gubbio is renowned for its many historical monuments and offers visitors an unforgettable glimpse into the intricate network of narrow streets.
At the centre of the city stands the majestic Palazzo dei Consoli. Here, one can find various objects of historical and artistic value, such as the famous Tavole Eugubine, seven bronze plates dating back to the third century BC on which the ancient Umbrian people left one of the most important epigraphic evidence of Antiquities.
In the afternoon, we make our way towards Montone. The town still retains its ancient medieval look. The excellent condition of Montone make it a classic example of a medieval urban layout, as well as being a place full of charm and tranquility, immersed in a landscape of the most beautiful Umbria.
